Charlottesville, Virginia — April 21, 2016 — Sarah Cramer Shields, Andrea Hubbell, and Jenny Paurys, the team behind Our Local Commons, today announced that a new, third edition of Our Local Commons will be released on Friday, May 6 and is currently available for pre-order. The book captures pioneers and icons in the area’s food community and focuses on timely storylines, including Virginia’s expanding beverage industry, global influences on local food, and the modern farmer. Our Local Commons—Volume III is a 152-page, softbound book with 16 feature-length stories, eight cooking tutorials, and more than 30 tested recipes from the area’s chefs, bakers, farmers, and food artisans. The book follows two previous Commons volumes and, most recently, The Virginia Table.
“We believe there is a universal appeal to the stories in this book and hope they inspire others to discover their local food community. Talk to your grocers, go to the little shops, and find what is made locally,” said Andrea Hubbell, co-creator of Our Local Commons. “For those who love food and love to learn, and want a great story, beautiful imagery, and a new recipe — this is the book for you.”
